FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Sept. 16, 2021 – Animal Friends Alliance will be holding a special event Sept. 17–19 that is part adoption event and part fundraiser.  Fort Collins Real Estate Broker Dennis Schick of RE/MAX Alliance is sponsoring all cat and kitten adoption fees to support Animal Friends Alliance’s Saving Pets Challenge crowdfunding campaign.  All weekend long, cat and kitten adopters will be encouraged to make a donation in lieu of the normal adoption fee with the goal of uniting more families and helping even more animals in need. 

Though the weather may be slowly getting cooler, it’s still “kitten season” in Northern Colorado and Animal Friends Alliance has taken in 1,349 kittens so far in 2021.  This sponsored adoption weekend will not only help some of these kittens find homes, but will raise funds to help Animal Friends Alliance compete in the Saving Pets Challenge, a national crowdfunding competition that runs throughout September.

“Our goal is to help animals in need, and this event serves the dual purpose of finding new families for these cats and kittens as well providing resources to save additional animals,” said Sarah Swanty, executive director of Animal Friends Alliance. “We’re so grateful to Dennis Schick for his generous sponsorship of cat and kitten adoption fees this weekend.”

The event will feature a mobile adoption event with kittens available at PetSmart Fort Collins from 10 a.m-3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18 at 4432 S. College Ave. All weekend long, Sept. 17–19, adopters can find even more cats and kittens at Animal Friends Alliance’s cat shelter, located at 2321 E. Mulberry St., Unit 1, Fort Collins, CO 80524.
