To submit a photo, first complete the Online Entry Form and then email your horizontal image to calendar@savinganimalstoday.org.  Please read all rules before emailing your photo.

There is a $20 entry fee for each photo submitted. This fee is for entering the contest only; a calendar is not included with this entry fee. If you would like to pre-order a calendar as well, they are $20 each and can be ordered through the entry form.

We must have a completed entry form and fee before your photo will be considered.  Photos emailed without completion of the entry form will not be considered.

Contest participants can pay with credit card online through the entry form.

Photos must be IN FOCUS (not blurry) and landscape in orientation (aka horizontal or sideways).  Square or vertical images will be cropped to fit a horizontal calendar design (ideally 16:9 ratio).  This may substantially alter the photo and your photo may be excluded from voting if cropping causes the photo to no longer meet size and resolution requirments.

All images must be digital and submitted electronically (no prints) and be at least 720×450 pixels and saved in JPEG (.jpg) format, but BIGGER is BETTER! Original size preferred. File formats other than JPEG will not be accepted. Photos that do not meet these size and format requirements will NOT be considered for a large monthly feature photo but will still be included as a thumbnail somewhere in the calendar. Submitters may ask for us to check the size for them and re-submit, but otherwise the submitter will NOT be contacted automatically if their image is too small.

Please name electronic files with your pet’s name and your last name, example: FluffySmith.jpg

Cat(s) and/or dog(s) must be the focus of the photo (other animals may be in the photo, but no humans are allowed in photos).

Tips: Photos with a clear subject, good lighting, and a non-distracting background are often the most successful.  Heartwarming, scenic, or humorous photos are also popular.

If your submission is a professional photograph, please be sure to submit the necessary releases by email when you send your photo.  Animal Friends Alliance will not be held liable for copyright infringement.

You may request that your photo entry and a special message be printed on a specific date of your choice (first come, first served; read more below) for a $35 donation, per photo.

This includes your photo contest entry.  If your photo entry wins one of the large monthly spots in the contest, you will be able to submit a different pet photo if desired, free of charge, to appear on your reserved date.

All entries and fees must be received by 11:59 p.m. August 20, 2023, to be eligible for consideration.

All attempts will be made to credit the photographer but is not guaranteed. All submitted photos will be property of Animal Friends Alliance, who may use the photo as deemed necessary. All contestants agree to release and hold harmless Animal Friends Alliance, all sponsors and representatives from all claims or actions, they, their heirs, executors or assigns may have arising directly or indirectly from this contest.
